🔒 Short version: Geo Alert doesn't sell your data or track you for ads. Your location is processed on your phone. Users with an account can sync their places to the cloud — and you have full control over that.
What Geo Alert does
Geo Alert is a location-based alert app. You mark a place on the map, configure the alerts, and the app notifies you when you're nearby. The app works without creating an account — but users with an account (Google or Apple) can sync their data across devices and subscribe to the Pro plan.
Data collected by usage mode
Without an account (local mode)
If you use the app without creating an account:
- ✅ No data is sent to servers.
- ✅ Your places and history stay only on your phone.
- ✅ If you uninstall, everything is automatically deleted.
With an account (Google or Apple)
If you sign in, the following data is stored on Firebase (Google) servers:
- 📧 Account identifier — email or Apple ID (provided by the login provider). We don't store your password.
- 📍 Your saved places — name, coordinates, and alert settings. Synced across devices. Automatically deleted after 180 days of inactivity.
- 🔔 Push notification token (FCM) — to send alerts even when the app is closed. Linked to your account, not your name.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app settings.
What we NEVER collect (in any case)
- 🚫 Your real-time location — it's processed on the phone and never sent to servers.
- 🚫 History of where you've been — the app doesn't record or transmit your movements.
- 🚫 Behavioral analytics — no tracking of screens, taps, or usage patterns.
- 🚫 Data for advertising — we don't share data with ad networks.
Pro Subscription (RevenueCat)
If you subscribe to the Pro plan, payments are processed by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous purchase identifier — not your name or payment details.

External services
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, data sync, and push notifications. Used only for users with an account. Privacy policy
- Google Places / Geocoding — when you search for an address, the text you typed is sent to Google to find the location. That's it, only at that moment.
- Apple Maps / Google Maps — to display the map. It only receives the visible region on screen.
- RevenueCat — Pro subscription management.
Permissions
The app only asks for what's necessary:
- 📍 Location — to know when you're near a saved place, even with the app closed. Never sent to servers.
- 🔔 Notifications — to notify you when an alert fires.
- 📳 Vibration — for vibration-type alerts.
You can revoke any permission in your phone settings at any time.
Security
Cloud data is protected by Firebase with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is authenticated — only you can see your data. We recommend keeping a password or biometrics enabled on your device.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 years of age.
Changes to this page
If we change anything important here, we'll let you know in an app update. The update date always appears at the top of this page.
